  Jehovah? Oh dear.

  some recent new friends on this forum like friend kosonen are fixated with god's name being jehovah...unfortunately they are wrong:.

  a quick bit of history:.

  "about the 13th century the term “jehovah” appeared when christian scholars took the consonants of “yahweh” and pronounced it with the vowels of “adonai.” this resulted in the sound “yahowah,” which has a latinized spelling of “jehovah.” the first recorded use of this spelling was made by a spanish dominican monk, raymundus martini, in 1270.. interestingly, this fact is admitted in much jehovah’s witness literature, such as their aid to bible understanding (p. 885).

  the hebrew language was written " backwards'--i.e from right to left.

  so YHWH should really be HWHY, which looks like HUWEE

  Hughie--sounds better to me..sort of American....

  garden centres are opening in wales on monday, in england on wednesday, but by the looks of things, are far too dangerous to open them anytime soon in scotland or n.i.

  my wife is the registered manager of a care home in the UK ( 20 residents ) its a nice easy job--except for the staff, many of which are worse than useless.

  yesterday, the night shift senior phone my wife at home to say she wouldnt be able to work last night--because she had a headache! a lot of phone calls to find a stand in --as usual--produced nothing. so my wife did the wakeful night herself--again.

  but here comes the farce. the night junior called her--offering the services of her sister as a stand in---untrained--no experience--cash in hand as she was on the 80% furlough.

  last weekend--a mighty row blew up in the home--the day senior found out the cleaner / junior night carer was doing hairdressing at home for paying customers--because SHE NEEDED THE MONEY. just how do you educate pork like these about personal safety and the spread of viral diseases ?. need less to say my wife ended up doing the night last weekend too.

  as UK care homes are in lock down--no visitors allowed, how do you think the virus gets in ? all care staff must be tested NOW.

  they are very happy being jehovah’s witnesses.👍👌..... many others realize what they have given up for jehovah, to belong to the jehovah’s witness religion.

  Nursing homes are massively profitable private enterprises.

  yes--if they are full. it doesnt take long with a few empty rooms for the profits to vanish. local authority funding makes sure of that.

  i went to the local b & q yesterday--to the garden center. well organised queuing system in and out. trolley handle sanitiser available. polite staff, good humoured customers, one way foot traffic paths round the store. long may it continue. spent 40 quid on plants.

  driving by a kh yesterday we saw a for sale sign in front of the building.

  it's on a beautiful piece of property off a main road outside the city limits.

  the building can be no more than 10 years old and is very beautiful.
